President's message - from Katy McFalls

I am excited and honored to serve as the president of the Cincinnati chapter this year. I joined in late 2015 and was very impressed with the tight bonds formed in this organization, the opportunities for career growth, mentoring and the community involvement of our chapter. When I joined, my goal was to learn more about the construction industry as a construction focused CPA in public practice. I also wanted the opportunity to help bring new clients into the firm. I got involved in different projects like Block Kids and Rosie's Girls, joined the board as treasurer and attended as many NAWIC and NAWIC affiliated sponsored events as I was able. I soon realized this group of women was much more than simply a group of business associates, but rather we lift each other up in our roles as employees, owners, mothers (of children and other creatures!), wives, daughters, and friends.  These women rallied around me when I was unexpectedly looking for employment and they challenge me in my new role to help me grow. While I have been around the construction industry since the age of 12, being involved in NAWIC helps me to see it from all angles - from the owners, the project managers, to the tradespeople, safety professionals, and the industries that support construction such as insurance, bonding and law.

NAWIC is: Enhancing the success of women in the construction industry, since 1955. Here’s to another great year!
