One of the goals of the Cincinnati chapter is attracting more women into the construction field. To help with that, we are pleased to offer 2 types of scholarships for women pursing an education in a construction-related field. Please see the documents below for more information on our scholarships for women pursuing a college degree and for women pursuing a trade. APPLICATION RULES AND REGULATIONS UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP
1. Eligibility: · Applicant MUST have one full year of course work completed and one full year of course work remaining at the beginning of the Fall term in a two, four or five year program · Applicant MUST desire a career in construction. · Applicant MUST PURSUE A DEGREE IN A CONSTRUCTION RELATED PROGRAM, SUCH AS CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT, CIVIL ENGINEERING, ARCHITECTURE OR RELATED PROGRAM. · Applicant MUST be a U.S. citizen. · Applicant must be enrolled as a full time student. · Student can be male or female. · Student must have a 2.5 average
2. Requirements: · Applicant is responsible for ensuring that all of the following items are submitted as one package and received by March 15, 2007 i. Completed and signed application ii. Three letters of recommendation (one from a teacher, one from a business professional and one personal). iii. Transcript of grades iv. Resume v. Answers to questions on application (limit one page for all questions) 3. Residency: · Applicant must live in the Cincinnati or Dayton area or · Attend a school in the Cincinnati or Dayton area
4. Awards: · Scholarship will be in the amount of $1,000. · Applications will be reviewed and recipient selected by the Scholarship Committee, which will consider the applicant’s interest in construction, grades, financial need, extracurricular activities, employment experience and letters of recommendation. · Checks will be made payable jointly to both the recipient and the college or university and mailed in August after proof of registration for fall quarter is received.
